Marvel Rivals Launch Trailer

The Marvel Rivals launch trailer has been released, and not only is it exciting, but it features the entire roster — including the five remaining unannounced characters! We'll discuss each after the jump.

Black Widow

Natasha Romanoff, better known as Black Widow is a highly skilled spy and assassin who has become one of Marvel's most iconic characters. Originally introduced as an antagonist to Iron Man, Natasha was a Soviet agent trained in the infamous Red Room, where she honed her skills in espionage, combat, and stealth. Despite her dark past, she defected to the United States and joined SHIELD, eventually becoming a core member of the Avengers. Known for her exceptional hand-to-hand combat abilities and expert marksmanship, Black Widow is a master of infiltration and espionage, often using her wits and agility to outsmart her enemies.

Cloak and Dagger

The duo of Cloak and Dagger consist of Tyrone "Ty" Johnson (Cloak) and Tandy Bowen (Dagger), who gained their powers after being subjected to a dangerous experiment involving synthetic heroin. Cloak has the ability to engulf others in darkness and teleport through the Darkforce Dimension, while Dagger can generate daggers of light that purify and heal. Together, they balance each other's powers — Cloak's darkness complemented by Dagger's light. The pair often tackle issues related to drug abuse and exploitation, using their unique abilities to protect runaways and fight crime.

Iron Fist Lin Lie

Lin Lie, originally known as Sword Master, is a Chinese superhero who later becomes the new Iron Fist. He first appeared in Chinese web manhua before making his way into American comics. Lin Lie wields the mystical Sword of Fu Xi, which he inherited from his father. After losing this sword, he takes up the mantle of Iron Fist, gaining the power of Shou-Lao's chi. His journey is marked by a quest to reforge the broken sword while grappling with his new identity as Iron Fist. Despite facing skepticism from others due to his unconventional path to becoming Iron Fist, Lin Lie is determined to prove himself worthy.

Squirrel Girl

Doreen Green or Squirrel Girl is a quirky superhero with the unique ability to communicate with squirrels and possesses squirrel-like agility and strength. Known for her upbeat personality and unconventional approach to heroism, she has defeated some of Marvel's most formidable villains, including Doctor Doom and Thanos — often by being underestimated. Squirrel Girl's adventures are characterized by humor and heart as she balances her life as a college student with her heroic endeavors. Her optimism and resourcefulness have earned her the title "The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl," making her a beloved character among fans.

Wolverine

James "Logan" Howlett, or Wolverine is one of Marvel's most enduring characters. A mutant with enhanced senses, regenerative healing abilities, and retractable adamantium claws, Wolverine is known for his gruff demeanor and complex past. Originally part of Canada's Department H as Weapon X, he later joins the X-Men under Professor Xavier's guidance. His long lifespan, thanks to his healing factor, has made him a seasoned warrior with vast combat experience. Despite his often solitary nature and berserker rages, Wolverine is fiercely loyal to his allies and remains a pivotal figure in the X-Men universe.
