Marvel Rivals Full Monetization Details
December 04, 2024
Marvel Rivals is gearing up for its launch with the game itself free to download, and all core gameplay elements like heroes and maps are also free. However, the game will offer purchasable cosmetic items that change only the visual appearance of characters, without affecting gameplay balance or offering any competitive advantage.
The game features two main in-game currencies: Lattice and Units. Lattice is a premium currency that players can purchase directly, while Units can be earned through gameplay activities such as the Battle Pass, achievements, and events. Players can also exchange Lattice for Units at a 1:1 ratio. The pricing for Lattice starts at $0.99 for 100 Lattice and goes up to $99.99 for 11,680 Lattice.
Cosmetic items are available for purchase in bundles from the in-game store. These bundles typically include a costume, MVP animation, emote, spray, and nameplate, with discounts offered for purchasing full bundles. Prices vary depending on the quality of the bundle, with standard epic-quality bundles priced at 1,600 Units and legendary-quality bundles at 2,400 Units.
Marvel Rivals also offers a battlepass that features high-quality cosmetic items comparable to those sold in bundles. The season zero Luxury (paid) battlepass costs 490 Lattice and includes items valued at 8,000 Units. Players can earn Chrono Tokens by completing tasks and events to redeem these items. The free battlepass provides some epic-quality cosmetics as well.
In addition to paid options, the game will reward players with free cosmetics through achievements and events. Players will also receive free Units to purchase paid cosmetics without spending real money.
