Season 1.5 Brings Human Torch, Thing, Central Park

The midseason update for Marvel Rivals arrives February 21, bringing the other two members of the Fantastic Four to the game alongside new map Central Park, new ranked rewards to earn, and a balance update for various characters.

Season 1.5 brings new vanguard Ben Grimm, better known as The Thing alongside his final teammate of the Fantastic Four, Johnny Storm the Human Torch as a new duelist. We'll have full character pages here on rivals.fan for the two new heroes shortly.

Central Park joins Midtown and the Sanctum Sanctorum as the third map of Season 1. While we don't have any gameplay details about the map yet, the in-game lore hints at our heroes looking to assault Central Park to free Blade and Ratatoskr from Dracula's castle based within the park, so it's possible that this may be the general theme of the map.

The midseason patch will be the deadline for the current seasonal rewards, such as Invisible Woman's Blood Shield costume from reaching Gold 3 at any point during this season half. The second half of the season will feature a new costume reward and emblems to work towards.

Initially, Marvel Rivals was to implement a soft rank reset at the start of the midseason to accomodate incoming heroes and balance changes, but have decided against enacting it after pushback from the community. If you've already hit Gold 3 or higher in the current season, you'll be all set for getting the Gold reward in the second half too — you'll just need to play at least ten ranked matches to qualify for any rewards, to prevent passive reward earning.
